June 29, 2023 - Ventura County Sheriff's Office officials report that during the month of June 2023, detectives from the Thousand Oaks Directed Enforcement Unit (DEU) began an investigation into Ryan Gerrard related to illegal firearms and narcotics. During the investigation, detectives obtained a search warrant for Ryan Gerrard’s residence.
On June 27, 2023, DEU detectives coordinated with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Gun Violence Reduction Program (GVRP) detective. DEU detectives and a GVRP detective executed the search warrant at Gerrard’s residence. As a result of the investigation, detectives seized numerous rounds of live ammunition, body armor, two handguns, an assault weapon, controlled substances, and narcotics related indicia.
Gerrard was booked at the Ventura County East Valley Jail for the following charges:
PC 30605(a) – Possession of Assault Weapon
HS 11370.1(a) – Possession of a Controlled Substance while Armed
PC 25400(a)(1) – Carry a Concealed Firearm in a Vehicle
PC 25850(c)(4) – Carrying a Loaded Firearm in Public
PC 29180(g) – Manufacture/Possess Firearm without a Serial Number
HS 11350(a) – Possession of a Controlled Substance
HS 11550(a) – Under the Influence of a Controlled
Gerrard remains in custody with a total of $50,000 scheduled bail.
