Update: Death Investigation - Fallbrook
July 21, 2023 – San Diego County Sheriff’s Department officials report that on July 17, 2023, at about 7:30 a.m., Sheriff's dispatch received a call about a 
shooting at a residence in the 1100 block of S. Stagecoach Lane in Fallbrook. The call was of a 3-year-old accidentally shooting their 1-year-old sibling. The 1-year-old victim has been identified as Jessa Osmera. The Sheriff's Department extends our sympathies to the family and those affected by her death.
The Medical Examiner's Office conducted an autopsy, and the preliminary determination of the cause of death is gunshot wound to the head; the manner is homicide.
No other family member was injured. The name of the 3-year-old is not being released. No arrests have been made at this time. Sheriff's Homicide investigators are working to gather more information to determine the circumstances of the death. The investigation is ongoing.
