August 5, 2023 - Ventura County Sheriff's Office officials report that on August 2nd, 2023, members of the Camarillo Directed Enforcement Unit (DEU) were patrolling the area of the Camarillo Premium Outlets. During their patrol, DEU members were notified of a theft in progress at one of the stores by private security personnel. DEU established a perimeter and contacted the four unidentified suspects as they exited the store. All four subjects were detained for further investigation.
During the course of the investigation, Camarillo Patrol and Camarillo Special Enforcement Unit resources responded to assist. A vehicle associated with the four suspects was located and determined to contain roughly $5,000.00 worth of stolen property from several outlet stores. The four suspects also possessed stolen items and burglary tools on their persons when contacted.
The stolen merchandise was returned to the victims. All four suspects were arrested for charges relating to burglary, theft, and providing false information to a peace officer. The suspects are currently in custody at the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility pending court proceedings.
