August 10, 2023 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on August 8, 2023, at 8:52 a.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station responded to the 1400 block of State Route 95, in the North Colorado River area of Blythe, reference a residential burglary and the theft of a GMC truck.

Deputies later located the stolen truck at Intake Boulevard and Agate Terrace Street. Deputies attempted to stop the truck, but the suspect, later identified as Johny Caballero, a 29-year-old from Blythe, fled from deputies leading them on a pursuit through south Blythe. Caballero stopped on a dirt road and fled on foot from deputies. Deputies, with assistance from Blythe Police Department, surrounded Caballero, who surrendered without incident.

Caballero was booked into the Blythe Jail for possession of stolen property and evading.
