August 13, 2023 - Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on August 11, 2023, members of the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station’s Burglary riverside county sheriff logoSuppression Unit (BSU), assisted by Thermal Station Patrol and members of the Gang Task Force, arrested two known robbery suspects, and served a residential search warrant, located in the 49000 block of Sierra Street, Coachella.

The search warrant was the result of an extensive investigation into a robbery that occurred on July 29, 2023, at a local hotel in the city of Indian Wells. During the investigation, BSU members developed leads and located evidence that helped to identify the suspect as Carlos Tapia, a 43-year-old resident of Coachella. During the service of the search warrant service, an additional suspect, identified as Norma Radillo, a 39-year-old resident of Coachella, was arrested for assisting Tapia in multiple residential burglaries within the city of Rancho Mirage. Both Tapia and Radillo were booked at the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio.
