August 20, 2023 - Riverside County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Friday, August 18, 2023, deputies from the San Jacinto Sheriff's Station followed a possible DUI driver to a fast-food restaurant on the 1000 block of North State Street, San Jacinto. The driver pulled into the drive-thru to avoid law enforcement contact and fell asleep at the wheel. Deputies woke the driver, Gonzalo Hernandez, a 40-year-old resident of Murrieta, and found him in possession of a loaded firearm, over 6 ounces of heroin, over 2 ounces of methamphetamine, and over $800 cash. The vehicle had been previously reported stolen from the Temecula area. Deputies arrested Hernandez for multiple felony violations and booked him at the Larry Smith Correctional Facility.
