August 24, 2023 - Imperial County Sheriff's Office officials report that the DEA Laboratory has found that 6 out of ten DEA-tested pills with fentanyl contain a potentially lethal dose. So far in 2023, fentanyl seizures represent over 204 million deadly doses.
As of June 2023, the Imperial County Border Crimes Suppression Team had seized approximately 1.3 million Fentanyl pills in Imperial County.
