Murder-for-Hire Plot Arrest

September 1, 2023 – San Diego County Sheriff's Department officials report that a woman is in custody on san diego county sheriff department logosuspicion of being behind a murder-for-hire plot to have her husband killed.

On July 2 around 7:30 p.m., deputies from the North Coastal Sheriff's Station received a radio call about a house fire in the 4600 block of Rancho Reposo in an unincorporated area of San Diego County.  Deputies contacted Tatyana Remley (DOB 12/08/1980) at the house.  She was in possession of three firearms and ammunition. Remley was arrested for firearms-related offenses and booked into the Vista Detention Facility. The Sheriff's Bomb/Arson Unit responded to the scene. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

On July 3, detectives from the North Coastal Sheriff's Station opened an investigation after receiving information Remley was attempting to hire someone to kill her estranged husband.

On August 2, Tatyana Remley met with an undercover Sheriff's Detective. She provided detailed information on how she wanted her husband killed and his body disposed. Remley brought three additional firearms and U.S. currency as a down payment for the murder. Remley was arrested and booked into the Vista Detention Facility.

All inquiries regarding this case should be directed to the San Diego County District Attorney's Office. Remley has been formally charged with solicitation of murder, carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle that was not registered with the Department of Justice and carrying a loaded firearm in a public place. She has a readiness hearing scheduled for October 16 at 8:30 a.m. in Department 6 of the North County Superior Court in Vista. A preliminary hearing is set for November 16 at 8:45 a.m. in Department 5 of the North County Superior Court.
