Train Collision in San Diego
September 5, 2023 - San Diego County Sheriff’s Department officials report that an investigation is underway after a deadly train collision in the City of San Diego.
It happened on Monday, September 4th at approximately 3:31 pm. Near the intersection of Morena Blvd. and Asher St. in the City of San Diego. When San Diego Police Officers arrived, they found a woman who was hit by a northbound Coaster train. Paramedics rushed to give aid, but she did not survive her injuries.
The Sheriff's Transit Enforcement Unit (TEU) investigates incidents along the routes of the North County Transit District. San Diego Police requested the Sheriff's TEU respond to conduct the investigation.
The Medical Examiner's Office will make a positive identification of the woman, as well as determine cause and manner of death pending notification of her family.
