Blight Reduction Program 

September 24, 2023 - San Bernardino Police Department officials report that recently, the Reserve Officers coupled with the Citizen Patrol units directed their efforts in the Rancho West community.

Rancho West is located in the surrounding area of Mill Street and Meridian Avenue. One of their goals was to remove vehicles from roadways that were expired, such as the one seen in the photo. A large portion of their success was from simply conducting records checks on vehicles parked on city streets. The results were as follows:

39 citations

15 commercial vehicle citations

10 impounded vehicles

1 stolen vehicle recovery

Collectively, the Reserves and Citizen Patrol provided more than 42 free man-hours to supplement the overall efforts of our police department. These units continue to make a difference with their hard work and passion for the community!
