Negligent Discharge of a Firearm Arrest
October 2, 2023 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at 7:18 p.m., Perris Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to the negligent discharge of a firearm in the area of Margarth Street and Highway 74 in the community of Good Hope. Deputies arrived and learned the suspect fled in a white Chevrolet Camaro. Deputies located the Camaro nearby and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, 29-year-old Armando Salazar-Garcia, and the passenger, 23-year-old Alejandro Gaona, both from the Perris area, were detained. During a search of the vehicle, deputies located a firearm, eight pounds of processed and packaged marijuana, a small quantity of narcotics, and approximately $4,000.
Deputies assigned to Perris Station Special Enforcement Team authored a search warrant for a residence in the 23000 block of Margarth Street. Deputies served the search warrant and located an illegal marijuana grow, an unregistered firearm, and one stolen firearm. Garcia and Gaona were booked at the Cois Byrd Detention Center for the negligent discharge of a firearm, possession of marijuana for sales, possession of narcotics, and possession of a handgun within a vehicle.
