Arson Arrest in Ramona
October 10, 2023 – San Diego County Sheriff’s Department officials report that a woman has been arrested on suspicion of deliberately starting a house fire in Ramona.
It happened on Monday, October 9 around 6:00 a.m. in the 200 block of Haley Street. The San Diego County Sheriff's Department received a call from a resident stating their house was on fire.
Deputies from the Ramona Sheriff's Substation and firefighters from CAL FIRE San Diego responded and arrived in minutes. They found the home fully engulfed in flames. Both residents were outside with no reported injuries.
Detectives from the Sheriff's Bomb/Arson Unit were called to the scene to investigate the origin and cause of the fire. Based on their investigation, detectives determined the fire was intentional. One of the residents, Susanne Buixasa (57) was arrested for arson. She was booked into the Las Colinas Detention and Reentry Facility in Santee.
