October 26, 2023 - Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office officials report Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding an Alhambra Police Department Officer-Involved Shooting of a Hispanic male in the city of Alhambra.
Officers from Alhambra Police Department responded to the 600 block of South Fremont Avenue in the city of Alhambra regarding a person with a gun and robbery in progress call. The incident occurred on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at approximately 5:37 A.M.
When officers arrived on scene, they observed the suspect walking westbound on Commonwealth Avenue away from the business.
As the officer followed the suspect in his vehicle, the suspect ran towards the backyard area of an unoccupied residence located in the 600 block of Meridian Avenue. As the officer approached the residence, the suspect produced a firearm and an Officer-Involved Shooting occurred.
The suspect is a Hispanic juvenile, 17 years of age. The suspect sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his lower torso area and was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
A firearm was recovered at the scene.
No officers were injured.
There are no outstanding suspects.
The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.
