Update: Homicide Investigation in Ramona
November 4, 2023 – San Diego County Sheriff's Department officials report that on October 20, 2023, at approximately 5:05 P.M. (1705 hours), deputies received a call of a deceased person located in the 400 block of 16th Street in Ramona. Deputies checked the residence and found 26-year-old Eduardo Aguilar Alba inside his home. Mr. Aguilar was pronounced deceased on scene. The Medical Examiner's Office conducted an autopsy, and the preliminary determination of the manner of death is homicide.
Homicide detectives determined 24-year-old Sean Hawksworth was the suspect in the death of Mr. Aguilar. The Sheriff's Department executed a search warrant at Hawksworth's Ramona residence on November 3, 2023, just before 2:30 a.m., and took custody of Hawksworth. Hawksworth was arrested for PC 187(A) – Murder and booked into the San Diego Central Jail.
This is still an ongoing investigation. Sheriff's Homicide investigators are working to gather more information to determine the facts of the case.
