Man Succumbs to Injuries After Being Shot in San Bernardino
March 2, 2024 - San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials report that on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at 2:52 p.m., officers from
the San Bernardino Police Department were investigating a shooting and located a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, identified as Robert Martinez, was in the county area of San Bernardino, near Hillside Drive and Conejo Drive. Martinez was transported to a hospital and despite lifesaving measures, he was pronounced deceased a short time later.
Investigators from the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail responded and assumed the investigation.
Through investigation, detectives determined Martinez was shot near a homeless encampment northeast of Hillside Drive. The suspect remains at large and has not been identified. The investigation is ongoing.
