Crime Doesn’t Pay
March 12, 2024 - San Bernardino Police Department officials report that last Thursday, Officers responded to a fraud case at a bank in the southern district. During the officers’ investigation, they learned that the suspect entered the bank and attempted to withdraw $5,000 from an account. He used suspected counterfeit identification cards and forged documents, which included a passport and a social security card.
Employees from the bank became suspicious, and they were alerted that the suspect successfully defrauded their Riverside Branch earlier that same day. The suspect was arrested on multiple felony counts, and the evidence was seized.
