Investigators Arrest Two Adelanto Suspects for Child Abuse and Child Sex Charges 

March 15, 2024 - San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials report that on Monday, February 5, 2024, investigators from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Victor Valley Station, and the Crimes Against Children (CAC) Detail conducted an investigation regarding a child sexual abuse investigation involving suspect Carlos Omar Moreno on two victims.

On Tuesday, March 13, 2024, Moreno and Maria Del Carmen Esquivel were arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center. Moreno was held for violation of California Penal Code sections 288(a), Lewd & Lascivious Acts with a child under 14 years of age and Penal Code 289(a)(1)(B), Sexual Penetration w/a Foreign Object. Esquivel was held for violation of California Penal Code section PC 273a(a) Child Abuse.
