Felony Hit-and-Run Traffic Collision

March 19, 2024 - Los Angeles, CA - Los Angeles Police Department officials report that the West Traffic Division detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver involved in a felony hit-and-run traffic collision.

On December 29, 2023, at 6:00 p.m., a white Dodge Charger with dark-tinted windows was traveling westbound on Pico Boulevard when it collided with a male pedestrian. The pedestrian was crossing from the south curb of Pico Boulevard just east of Elden Avenue. Following the collision, the Dodge Charger continued westbound on Pico Boulevard, fleeing the scene without identifying themselves or rendering aid to the pedestrian, as required by law.

The Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and transported the pedestrian to a local hospital for medical treatment. The victim, a 21-year-old Los Angeles area resident, is currently recovering from severe injuries to their skull. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $25,000 is available to community members that provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
