Two Arrested in Cannabis Cultivation Operation
March 19, 2024 - Alturas, CA - Modoc County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, Modoc County Sheriff's Deputies served search warrants on three residents in rural Modoc County for marijuana cultivation. All three locations were associated with the same people. Deputies eradicated 4,367 marijuana plants and seized one firearm. Two men were arrested, Fudeng Wu 49, and Chunxian, Zhang 47, both from Sacramento.
The interior of all three residents were modified for the cultivation of marijuana, which included elaborate lighting, timers, and intricate ventilation systems.
Wu and Zhang have been arraigned on their charges and are currently being held on $50,000 bail. Their next court appearance is scheduled for April.
