April 17, 2024 - Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report after a lengthy investigation into the murder of 31-year-old Anna Meza of San Jacinto, investigators with the Central Homicide Unit identified the suspect as Daniel Acevedo, a 27-year-old resident of San Jacinto. On Friday, April 12, 2024, members of the Major Crimes Unit conducted a traffic stop in San Jacinto and took Acevedo into custody without incident. On Monday, April 15, 2024, the District Attorney reviewed the case and filed murder charges against Acevedo.

Update:

On November 12, 2017, at about 3:00 pm, Riverside County Sheriff’s Department deputies assigned to the City of San Jacinto were dispatched to a residence located in the 100 block of North Dillon Ave. regarding an adult female who had been shot. Deputies arrived on scene and located a female lying on the street. Medical aid was summoned and attempted life saving measures, but the victim had succumbed to her injuries. The name of the decedent is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.

Investigators from the San Jacinto Police Department and the Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit responded to the location and assumed the investigation. No further information will be released at this time.
