May 17, 2024 - Imperial County Sheriff’s Office officials report that the Imperial County Sheriff’s Office officials report that the Imperial County Sheriff’s Deputies assigned to Winterhaven attempted to stop a vehicle during a routine patrol, but the driver refused to yield, leading to a pursuit.

After stopping, the suspect fled on foot, but was quickly apprehended in a nearby brush area. A search of the vehicle revealed a shotgun, bulletproof vest, and various types of ammunition. The suspect was booked for evading officers, possession of a weapon, and additional charges.
