Suspect Arrested for Attempt Murder
May 17, 2024 - Ventura County Sheriff's Office officials report that on May 6, 2024, at approximately 8:41 P.M. (2041 hours), deputies from the
Camarillo Police Station responded to an agricultural field in the 5000 block of Los Angeles Avenue, in Somis, in reference to a call of a stabbing. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found a male subject suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he underwent surgery. Investigators from the Sheriff’s Major Crimes Bureau responded to investigate the incident.
Prior to the arrival of deputies at the scene, the suspect, who was later identified as Samuel Adolfo, had fled the scene. The immediate area was searched, but Adolfo was not located.
Investigators from the Sheriff’s Major Crimes Bureau and the Camarillo Station’s Special Enforcement Unit collectively worked together to locate Adolfo. On May 15, 2024, investigators obtained information that Adolfo was staying on a property located in the 8000 block of Posita Road in Moorpark. Upon reaching the location, Adolfo attempted to evade capture by fleeing through agricultural fields. A comprehensive search involving resources from the Sheriff's Office, including patrol personnel, special enforcement units, Major Crimes investigators, and the Ventura County Aviation Unit, was launched to locate Adolfo, who was wanted for attempted murder. Following an extensive search effort, Adolfo was successfully located and taken into custody.
Adolfo is currently incarcerated in the Ventura County Jail awaiting court proceeding, with a bail set at $540,000.00.
