Commercial Crimes Division Arrests Cargo Theft Suspects 

May 23, 2024 – Los Angeles, CA – Los Angeles Police Department officials report that on May 21, 2024, detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Commercial Crimes Division’s Cargo Theft Unit (CTU) arrested Brian Sam; a 55-year-old resident of Upland, and Nicholas Minasyan; a 22-year-old resident of Santa Clarita. The suspects were in possession of a stolen shipment of copper sheets, valued at $175,000. Both suspects were booked at LAPD’s Men’s Detention Center for 496(A) PC-Receiving Stolen Property.

Charges are pending against the two suspects by the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office.

The Los Angeles Police Department will continue to diligently investigate and arrest perpetrators of these types of crimes.
