Swat Response 

May 26, 2024 – San Bernardino Police Department officials report that officers responded to a felony crime involving domestic violence. The female victim was able to leave the residence with two of the children, but the male suspect remained inside with the other two small kids. Officers from the Hostage Negotiations Team tried to de-escalate the situation and negotiate for a peaceful surrender.

The suspect was armed with a handgun and refused to cooperate with officers. A standoff ensued, right up until the SWAT armored vehicle arrived along with additional SWAT personnel. Within about a minute the suspect exited the front door and surrendered. Officers swiftly entered the residence to check on the welfare of the kids. A search warrant was completed which led to the recovery of the handgun. The suspect was arrested on felony charges and the kids were not injured.
