June 13, 2024 – San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials report that on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at about 4:00 p.m., inmate Kim Ray Stevens a 61-year-old male resident of Fontana was taken to the hospital for ongoing care he was receiving for a serious medical condition. During the medical examination, Stevens went into cardiac arrest. Lifesaving measures were attempted; however, he was pronounced deceased by hospital staff.
The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division responded and assumed the investigation. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause and manner of death.
Stevens was arrested on December 6, 2023, by the Rialto Police Department on several warrants for public intoxication and vandalism and remained in custody until his death.
