Danny Sanchez is charged with alleged organized retail grand theft after stealing merchandise from AutoZone in the city of Los Angeles. 

June 14, 2024 – LOS ANGELES, CA – Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón announced on george gasconThursday that Danny Sanchez has been charged with alleged organized retail grand theft at an AutoZone, and leading Los Angeles police on a pursuit in the city of Los Angeles on June 10.

“Mr. Sanchez’s alleged actions are part of a troubling trend that not only harms local businesses, but also jeopardizes the safety and security of our community,” District Attorney Gascón said. “Such brazen behavior will not be tolerated. Our office will work to ensure that the offender is held accountable for his role in this crime. We will continue to prioritize these cases and work diligently with law enforcement to prevent organized retail theft.”

Danny Sanchez (24) is charged in case 24CMCF01112 with one count of organized retail grand theft; one count of fleeing a pursuing peace officer’s motor vehicle while driving recklessly; and one count of second-degree burglary.

Sanchez pleaded not guilty at arraignment on June 12. A preliminary hearing setting 0/10 is scheduled June 27 in Dept. 14 of the Compton Courthouse.

On June 10, at approx. 1:30 a.m., Sanchez allegedly broke into an AutoZone on Century Boulevard and Hoover Street in the city of Los Angeles with a group of people and stole more than $1,000 in merchandise. Sanchez fled the scene in a vehicle and led police on a short pursuit. The merchandise was recovered when police arrested Sanchez.

If convicted as charged, the maximum sentence is three years and eight months in prison.

The case is being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department.
