Standoff with Felony Suspect Ends Safely
June 21, 2024 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at 4:01 p.m., the Riverside County Sheriff's Office – Southwest Station Special Enforcement Team (SET) responded to a residence in the 31000 block of Huron Street, Temecula, to serve a search warrant. Upon arrival, deputies made announcements at the front of the residence. Four individuals exited the residence and were detained without incident. However, Rogelio Ochoa, a 33-year-old Temecula resident, refused to comply or exit the residence.
Ochoa had an outstanding felony warrant for receiving stolen property. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office - Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) and the Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) were called to assist in the apprehension of Ochoa.
For public safety, all north and southbound lanes of Pechanga Parkway were closed between Wolf Creek Drive North and Wolf Valley Road for over two hours. Eventually, Ochoa exited the residence and was taken into custody without incident.
Rogelio Ochoa was booked at the Cois Byrd Detention Center for his felony warrant, where he is being held on a $60,000 bail. This investigation is ongoing, and no additional details are available at this time.
