Suspects Arrested in a Series of Vehicle Burglaries

June 16, 2024 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 12:17 a.m., deputies from the riverside county sheriff logoRiverside Sheriff’s Palm Desert Station responded to the 76000 block of Fairway Drive, Indian Wells, regarding multiple vehicle burglaries in the area. The suspects stole wallets, identifications, access cards, and a laptop from the vehicles. The Indian Wells Special Enforcement Team (SET) assumed the investigation and learned the suspects used the stolen access cards to make fraudulent online transactions. The SET wrote several search warrants, which resulted in the identification of Cynthia Martinez, a 33-year-old, and Francisco Ferratt as the suspects, both residents of La Quinta.

On Thursday, June 13, 2024, Martinez and Ferratt were arrested, and a search warrant was served at their residence in La Quinta. During the service of the search warrant service, the SET recovered stolen property from the vehicle burglaries, including the stolen laptop. Martinez and Ferratt were transported and booked into the John Benoit Detention Center for burglary, conspiracy, vandalism, identity theft, and possession of stolen property. This investigation is ongoing, and no additional details are available.

Anyone with information regarding this case is encouraged to call Deputy Kendall Martinez with the Indian Wells Special Enforcement Team at the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station at (760) 836-1625.
