June 19, 2024 – San Diego Police Department officials report that their officers have a keen eye for inconsistencies and are trained to conduct thorough investigations to uncover the truth. Recently, an Officer working our Mid-City Division saw a vehicle with a temporary license plate that, after a records check, was found to have belonged to a vehicle that was not the same make of vehicle it was attached to.

When the officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the driver failed to yield and instead attempted to evade the officer at high speeds. The driver eventually crashed after losing control of the vehicle and was caught hiding nearby by responding officers.

The investigation uncovered narcotics, paraphernalia, and the driver being on probation with a felony warrant for their arrest. Officers also discovered the driver had an extensive arrest history including previous incidents of fleeing and resisting law enforcement. An Officer’s watchful eye and the experience of conducting criminal investigations helps keep San Diego as one of America's safest cities.
