Fatal Traffic Collision 

June 23, 2024 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Friday June 21, 2024, at 10:11 PM, deputies from the San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station responded to San Jacinto Avenue and Esplanade Avenue, in the city of San Jacinto, regarding a major injury traffic collision. Deputies arrived and located two vehicles, one of which was overturned. The occupants, who were both severely injured, were trapped inside of their vehicles. Riverside County Fire immediately responded, began extricating the trapped occupants, and provided medical aid. Both drivers were transported to a local trauma hospital. One of the drivers was pronounced deceased at the hospital, the other is listed in stable condition.

The San Jacinto Traffic Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. The cause of the collision is still under investigation and the identities of the involved parties, including the deceased, will not be released pending further investigation and notification to the next of kin. No further information is available at this time.

The collision investigation required the temporary closure of San Jacinto Avenue, between Esplanade Avenue and Shaver Street.
