Guns Seized in Fallbrook
June 28, 2024 – San Diego County Sheriff’s Department officials report that a North County man is under arrest on numerous weapons charges.
On Thursday, June 27, 2024, just after 8:00 a.m., deputies from the Fallbrook Sheriff's Substation were following up on a domestic violence investigation at a home in the 700 block of Steward Canyon Road in Fallbrook.
William James Wallace (45) was arrested without incident. Sheriff's Detectives say he is a convicted felon with potential access to firearms at his home.
During a search of Wallace's home, deputies found two handguns, an assault rifle and two privately manufactured firearms, also commonly referred to as ghost guns.
Unlike weapons made by a licensed manufacturer, ghost guns do not have a serial number or other identifiable markings. The lack of a serial number makes it extremely challenging for law enforcement agencies to track these firearms to their owner or maker, hindering or delaying investigations and crime-solving efforts.
Wallace was booked into the Vista Detention Facility on several charges, including domestic violence, felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition and possession of an undetectable firearm.
