Homicide Detectives Investigating Road Rage Incident that Left a Fontana Man Deceased
June 29, 2024 – San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials report that on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at about 4:30 p.m., deputies from the Fontana Sheriff’s Station responded to the 14100 block of Arrow Route for the report of a shooting. When deputies arrived, they found the victim, Roger Albarran, inside his vehicle with a gunshot wound. Albarran was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail responded and assumed the investigation. Detectives learned Albarran was in a Honda Civic and was traveling north on Etiwanda when a road rage incident occurred with a subject, later identified as Abel Nunez-Alejandre, who was driving a GMC Yukon. During the road rage incident, Nunez-Alejandre fired a handgun at Albarran. Albarran was struck by gunfire, lost control of his vehicle, and collided with a parked car.
Nunez-Alejandre was located and arrested for murder. He was booked in at the West Valley Detention Center where he remains without bail.
