Fatal Traffic Collision
July 6, 2024 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on July 5, 2024, at 4:06 p.m., deputies from the Perris Sheriff’s Station, responded to the intersection of Ramona Expressway and Redlands Avenue in Perris regarding a report of a major injury traffic collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle. Deputies arrived on scene and located the motorcyclist unresponsive with major injuries on the roadway. Deputies and medical personnel performed lifesaving measures but the motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and was cooperative during the investigation.
The Perris Station Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. Preliminary findings revealed the motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Redlands Avenue and a Nissan sedan was traveling westbound on Ramona Expressway when the two collided in the intersection. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor in this collision. This investigation is ongoing.
The identity of the deceased will not be released pending further investigation and notification to the next of kin. A temporary road closure of Ramona Expressway between Redlands Avenue and Perris Boulevard was required in order to process the scene and collect evidence.
