Camarillo Narcotics and Firearms Arrest

July 23, 2024 – Ventura County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on July 18, 2024, deputies working patrol in the city of Camarillo arrested Louie Ayala, a probationer with a felony warrant for violation of his probation. During the arrest, Ayala resisted deputies and attempted to flee on foot. Ayala was found to be in possession of narcotics with the intent to distribute them and he possessed an unregistered short barrel rifle containing armor piercing bullets.

At about 9:30 P.M. (2130 hours), an alert citizen called Sheriff’s Dispatch to report a suspicious vehicle blocking a driveway in the 200 block of Nellora Street. The vehicle was registered to Louie Ayala. Deputies located Ayala’s vehicle parked in the area. Shortly after, Ayala returned to the area of his vehicle and was contacted by a deputy.

Ayala was found to be in possession of 220 Oxycodone pills. Deputies conducted a probation search of Ayala’s vehicle parked at the location. The probation search yielded methamphetamine, psilocybin and narcotics paraphernalia.  In addition to the narcotics located, a short-barreled AR-15 style rifle was located. The rifle was loaded with one magazine and an additional loaded magazine was also recovered. Ayala is a convicted felon prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition. Some of the ammunition possessed by Ayala were armored piercing rounds.
