Two Juveniles Shot During Street Takeover Leaving One Dead
July 23, 2024 – Los Angeles, CA – Los Angeles Police Department officials report that South Bureau Homicide detectives 
are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect(s) responsible for the shooting death of one male victim and injuring another male victim.
On Saturday, July 20, 2024, around 12:40 a.m., two 15-year-old victims were shot while attending a street takeover in the area of 54th Street and Western Avenue. The juveniles observed an individual possibly being a victim of a robbery, when the unknown male suspects fled to a nearby vehicle, and fired gunshots towards the juveniles, striking both. The suspects fled in the vehicle in an unknown direction.
Both juvenile victims self-transported themselves to a nearby hospital. One of the juveniles was listed in critical condition and was transferred to another medical center where the victim ultimately succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced deceased. The other juvenile victim was listed in stable condition.
