Officers from the Hawthorne Police Department responded to the 12700 block of Crenshaw Boulevard in Hawthorne to investigate the shooting of a male adult at the location.
The incident occurred on Monday, August 12, 2024, at approximately 9:28 p.m.
Investigators learned the male adult was shot while walking in the parking lot of the location. An officer from the Hawthorne Police Department, patrolling the area, observed the incident and engaged in a vehicle pursuit of the suspect vehicle. At the terminus of the pursuit, one individual was detained. There are outstanding suspects, described only as male adults. L.A. County Fire paramedics responded and pronounced the victim dead on scene.
The investigation is ongoing, and currently, there is no additional information available at this time.
