Homicide Investigation 

August 23, 2024 – Riverside County Sheriff's Office officials report that investigators from the Riverside Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit identified Daniel Santos Ambriz, a 31-year-old resident of Perris, as an additional suspect in this homicide investigation. On August 20, 2024, investigators developed information of Daniel Ambriz’ whereabouts. Daniel Ambriz was located in Lawton, Oklahoma and with the assistance of the Lawton Police Department, Daniel Ambriz was taken into custody for an outstanding homicide arrest warrant.

Samantha Insley, a 21-year-old resident of Perris, was also taken into custody by Lawton Police Officers and she is currently being held on an aiding and abetting arrest warrant associated with this murder investigation. Daniel Ambriz and Samantha Insley are currently being held in the Comanche County Detention Center on their warrants and will eventually be extradited back to Riverside County.

Upon Daniel Ambriz’ extradition back to Riverside County, he will be charged with murder, felon in possession of a firearm, and numerous enhancements associated with the murder.

Samantha Insley will be charged with aiding and abetting upon her extradition back to Riverside County.
