Hit-and-Run Leaves a Pedestrian Severely Injured
December 21, 2024 – Los Angeles, CA – Los Angeles Police Department officials report that Detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Traffic Division are seeking the public’s help to identify the driver responsible for a hit-and-run that left one person severely injured.
On December 13, 2024, around 6:40 p.m., a pedestrian stood beside his vehicle in the southbound lane of New Hampshire Avenue, just south of 8th Street. The pedestrian was struck by a white Ford F-150 traveling southbound on New Hampshire Avenue. The driver of the Ford F-150 failed to stop, identify themselves, or render aid to the pedestrian as required by law. The vehicle’s last known location was westbound on James M. Wood Boulevard from New Hampshire Avenue.
Paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene and transported the 71-year-old male victim to a local hospital for medical treatment.
Motorists are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.
The public is also reminded that pedestrians must obey all traffic laws and cross the street when it is safe.
On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members who provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
