Hit-and-Run Traffic Collision Leaves a Pedestrian Severely Injured
January 14, 2025 – Los Angeles, CA – Los Angeles Police Department officials report that detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Traffic Division are asking for the public’s help in identifying a driver involved in a hit-and-run traffic collision that severely injured a 29-year-old pedestrian.
On December 22, 2024, around 2:35 a.m., a newer model white sedan was traveling northbound on Catalina Street approaching Wilshire Boulevard, when it struck a pedestrian crossing Catalina Street from the west curb. The driver continued north on Catalina Street, failing to stop, identify themselves, and/or render aid to the injured person as required by law.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and transported the male victim to a local area hospital for further medical treatment.
Motorists are reminded that if they become involved in a traffic collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.
On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $25,000 is available to community members that provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
