Homicide Investigation 

June 28, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 10:50 p.m., deputies from the Cabazon Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to the 47000 block of Morongo Road, in the unincorporated area of Banning, regarding a deceased subject. Upon arrival, deputies found a male victim with a traumatic injury and obvious signs of death. The scene was secured and the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office - Central Homicide Unit responded to assume the investigation.

The decedent in this case has been identified as 50-year-old Orlando Lara, a resident of Banning. The investigation is still ongoing as investigators are working to identify the suspect responsible. No further information will be released at this time.
