Hit and Run with Injury (Update) 

August 10, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that Deputies from the Cabazon Sheriff's Station continued the investigation riverside county sheriff logointo the hit-and-run collision and identified the driver as Jaime Jose Aviles Munoz, a 47-year-old resident of Yucaipa. One of the juvenile victims was released from the hospital to a family member, and the second remains hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

On August 9, 2025, at 9:16 a.m., Aviles Munoz was taken into custody in the 34000 block of Avenue E., Yucaipa, without incident. The passenger was also identified, interviewed, and later released. Aviles Munoz was subsequently booked into the Smith Correctional Facility on multiple charges, including felony hit and run, residential burglary, and driving on a suspended license.

The investigation remains ongoing, and no further details are being released at this time.
