Shooting - Spring Valley 

September 3, 2026 – San Diego County Sheriff's Office officials report that Crime Stoppers and investigators from the Rancho San Diego Sheriff's Station want the public’s help in identifying and locating the suspect responsible for a shooting in Spring Valley.

On July 17, 2026, just after 11:30 p.m., deputies responded to a call of a shooting at a home located in the 10200 block of Challenger Boulevard. When they arrived at the scene, deputies found a woman who had a single gunshot wound to the ankle. She was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a hospital.

Deputies investigating the incident learned the victim was attending a party at the location when two men got into an argument in the middle of the street. The situation eventually escalated resulting in a shooting. The victim was not the intended target and did not know the men involved in the argument.

The suspect immediately fled the scene. No suspect description was given.

Sheriff's Detectives are requesting the public's assistance in locating any additional witnesses, victims or evidence regarding this shooting.
