Evening Update: CAL FIRE reports the Dixie Fire in Butte and Plumas Counties is at 113,006 Acres with 18% Containment.
The Dixie Fire is burning in a remote area with limited access, extended travel times in steep terrain are hampering control efforts. Fire crews will continue using/opening up old control lines from the Bear Fire and the Chips Fire. The fire is expected to continue to move northeast, with potential for 2 to 3 miles of new growth. Relative humidity will drop into the upper single digits with little to no overnight recovery.

The Dixie Fire remained active overnight with active surface fire, and single tree torching with short range spotting and rollout. Firefighters fought the fire aggressively. Firefighters continued construction on control lines and engaged in structure defense overnight. Fire is going to continue to move Northeast. Air and ground firefighting resources will work together to strengthen and improve control lines. The fire is burning in a remote area with limited access and steep terrain. High temperatures a little above seasonal normal will continue for Thursday.
