August 7, 2021 - The US Interagency Wildland Fire Air Quality Response Program Smoke Outlook for the Dixie Fire for Saturday.
Fire: The Dixie Fire is now 446,723 acres with 21% Contained
Smoke: Strong winds have diminished over the fire area. Most combustion over the next couple of days will be from smoldering and burning of larger woody fuels. Expect smoke to concentrate in low areas at night. Areas northeast of the fire can expect lower air quality.
Health and Safety:
Properly wearing a NIOSH-certified N95 or P100 particulate respirator that fits closely to the face can help reduce personal exposure to wildfire smoke and ash. Adults who must remain outdoors in unhealthy air for extended periods due to work or other factors may particularly benefit from using this strategy. wildfire smoke.
