August 20, 2021 - The US Interagency Wildland Fire Air Quality Response Program Smoke Outlook for the Dixie Fire for Friday.
Special Statement: Added Grass Valley and Auburn to this outlook. They will no longer be listed in the Lake Tahoe Basin outlook
Fire: The Dixie Fire is now 700,630 acres, an increase of 22,261 acres with 35% Contained. The containment date is now 9/30/2021. Active fire behavior on both the East and West Zones
Smoke: Light to moderate SW winds. Monitors to the north and east will see poorer air quality today. Monitors in the valley location will see slightly improved air quality later in the day. Smoke will hang around in the morning hours but will begin to lift in the afternoon.
