July 26, 2017 - The Detwiler Wildfire in Mariposa County began on Sunday afternoon at around 3:56 P.M. at Detwiler Road across from Hunters Valley Road about 2 miles east of Lake McClure. As of Tuesday evening the fire was at 80,000 acres with 65% containment.

Evacuation orders for the following areas will be lifted for residents only, Wednesday July 26, 2017 at 11:00AM
These areas will remain under advisory. Evacuation Advisory- Issued alert to media and public of potential evacuation orders. Contains general information of the incident and how to prepare.
Please be aware that Fire Crews are working on direct fire lines in the area. Please drive with caution as fire crews and heavy equipment remain in the area.

Current Situation
Firefighters continued to work aggressively throughout the night to reinforce containment lines. Hot and dry conditions are still presenting some challenges to firefighters during the day, as well as steep and rugged terrain, but crews are making good progress in the fire area. Residents are urged to stay vigilant for any change in fire conditions. Please use extreme caution while driving as fire equipment and crews will continue to work throughout the fire area. “One Less Spark-One Less Wildfire”.
