July 29, 2017 - The Detwiler Wildfire in Mariposa County began on Sunday afternoon, July 16, 2017 at around 3:56 P.M. at Detwiler Road across from Hunters Valley Road about 2 miles east of Lake McClure. As of Friday evening the fire was at 81,650 acres with 80% containment.

Firefighters worked through the night to continue building and reinforcing containment lines. Hot and dry weather is expected through the day and residents are reminded to stay vigilant for any change in fire conditions.
