Manna House, a non-profit organization that provides emergency food to all in need, is the most recent recipient of a donation from Soroptimist International of Mariposa. Soroptimist is an international volunteer organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls in local communities and throughout the world. In addition to participating in international projects, the Mariposa Club achieves this mission locally by giving scholarships to graduating seniors, presenting monetary awards to women that are the heads of their households seeking further education, and donating funds and services to organizations such as Ethos Youth Center, Mountain Crisis Services, Manna House and Heritage House.
Soroptimist International of Mariposa is holding a one-day-only Christmas Home Tour for Saturday, December 13, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Proceeds will enable Soroptimist to support local projects, such as Manna House and other community scholarships, with 10% of the proceeds to be donated to the Friends of the Library.
Tickets are $12.00 and available at Happy Burger Diner, Trent’s Styling for His and Hers, Starchman & Bryant Attorneys at Law, and from any Mariposa Soroptimist member.
