F/STOP, a photography program for people 55-years and older, is a series of free, 5-week digital photography workshops focused on the artistic elements of photography and is designed to promote creativity, self-expression, and increase comfort with digital technology.

This year, F/STOP –– led by photographers Jeannine Andre and Barbra Kyne –– was inspired by the work of Ansel Adams and his use of photography to advocate for the causes he felt were important: accessibility, nature, and preservation. Partnered with the Mariposa Creek Parkway Revitalization Project, F/STOP participants focused their final project on introspective visualizations for Mariposa’s community green space, including the Mariposa Creek, or self-selected a separate advocacy theme. Participants also composed a haiku or cinquain to accompany their final photograph.

This exhibition will run at the Treetop Gallery from August 15 - October 20, 2019

Generous support for this program comes from the County of Mariposa, the California Arts Council, a state agency, and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.

The Arts Council is an incorporated not-for-profit organization, created to promote and support all forms of the cultural arts, for all ages, throughout Mariposa County and is supported in part by the County of Mariposa, the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency, and the California Arts Council, a state agency.
