August 1, 2019 - Yosemite National Park officials said yesterday, "We would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to all Yosemite National Park visitors who came out today to help us commemorate #WorldRangerDay."
Yosemite staff was joined by California State Park Rangers (and K-9 Ranger Rocky), representatives of the California State Park Rangers Association, The International Ranger Federation, and representatives from Congressman Tom McClintock and State Senator Andreas Borgeas' offices for a ceremony in front of the Valley Visitor Center.
The event in Yosemite coincided with events conducted worldwide to remember rangers who lost their lives in the line of duty and to celebrate the work of park rangers.
About 100 people attended today's event, which is held annually on July 31st.
